CNC Lathe Upgrade Kit
If you already have a Sherline lathe and would like the components needed to add stepper motors and upgrade it to CNC, but you want to use your own computer, this kit will make it easier for you. Check the drop-down menu for the proper kit for your lathe.
Included will be a retrofit kit to add stepper motor mounts to the X and Z axes of your lathe. A new Z-axis lead screw is included, while the cross slide screw is reused. Also included are two 67127 stepper motors with plugs and an 8760 4-axis driver box. The 8760 includes a power supply and all cables necessary to connect with your computer and with your 2 stepper motors. Also included is the Sherline Linux/EMC control program on CD should you wish to install it on your computer.

The MASSO controller allows you to write your CNC programs on your computer (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc.). You can then transfer your program to the controller via a USB flash drive. No more having to use a dedicated operating system like Linux to control your machine.
