Description
Sherline Short Mill Cutter Arbor 7/8 Inch 3235
Short Mill Cutter Arbor (1 Inch diameter x 7/8 Inch short
NOTE: The arbor shown is one of the “short” versions (7/8″ body length arbors). There are different versions also available, please contact us.
Use of Cutter Arbors
If you need to hold 7/8″ or 1″ I.D. cutters for milling or gear cutting, these arbors will hold them on your Sherline mill. These are steel arbors with a #1 Morse taper. They use a drawbolt and washer for use in the Sherline headstock spindle.
Each is available in a choice of stand off lengths. These lengths are 3/4″ (short) or 1-3/4″ (long). Each sells separately, please contact us for all the available cutter arbor options. They hold round, multi-toothed involute gear cutters.
Milling Cutter Arbors
Made of a body and a cap and grip the round, toothed cutters for milling. The arbors have a #1 Morse taper on the body and are on the mill headstock spindle with a drawbolt. They do not come with a drawbolt with the arbor because almost everyone with a Sherline mill already has one on hand from a drill chuck or some other accessory.
If you do not have one, you will need to order P/N 30880 (sold separately). It is a 1/4-20 x 5″ bolt with a special washer that registers in the spindle end. The cap is on the arbor body with a 10-32 socket head cap screw. The cutter is gripped between the body and the cap.
